Question about jdm mirrors.
ok, i have a standard s13 hatch (no power mirrors/windows). i have jdm mirrors. i did all the nessacery changes to them (swap mirrors and triangular baces) and ran the wireing to my center councle (all 5), now i dont see any extra power wires for a mirror switch. so, i spliced into my cigaret lighter. my question is will that be a problem?
thanks, ron. p.s. i did search, and this was not mentioned. |

Your car will explode next time you drive over 88 mph. Either that or your Flux Capacitor will kick in, transporting you to 1985.
Should be fine, but know that the cigarette lighter only recieves 12V when the ignition is on. Therefore, you won't be able to fold or adjust your mirrors with the car off. ![]()

That's fine. Just keep in mind that your lighter circuit has a 15A fuse. If all of your accessories pull more than that at any one time you'll pop the fuse.
And don't even think of using a higher-rated fuse because that's a good way of overheating the wire. |
