Silk Road racing clutch

Hey guys,

I was thinking about putting on a new clutch before I swap the engine back into my car. I am planning for 300whp. Pretty much have all of the parts to achieve that number. I was thinking about getting an Exedy Stage 2 clutch.

Anyway, I pulled my tranny off my SR redtop for the first time to see what the clutch looks like. The flywheel looks nice and shiney form the parts of it I can see, and the clutch looks pretty clean of dust. The clutch is still installed on the flywheel. I had no idea what the clutch was since there was no name on it. I did a search on the Internet based on the number I saw on the clutch disk through the middle. It reads NMD 205. Based on the results, it's a Silk Roads racing clutch.

http://www.silkroad-usa.com/pages/clutch.htm

I have never heard of this clutch. I have heard of Sik Road coilovers, but not about their clutches.

Anyone have any knowledge/experience with this clutch? Will this be fine for my 300whp goal? How's the driveablity? You think I should go ahead and change it?

It's the 3-puck racing clutch.

ive got an Exedy stage 2 w/ fidanza flywheel. I havent driven this setup daily for 2 years while running high 11's on drag radials at least once a month. It can be annoying in stop and go traffic but can be modulated with some practice. Can complain to much about the "grabiness" considering the torque holding capability's

Yeah, your review is exactly like many I have read about the Exedy 2. I hope the Silk Road clutch isn't as bad. I guess we will see. It definitely was a pleasant surprise. I was expecting some shytty clutch that I would have to change.
