Does Zilvia actually verfiy if Advertisers are legit?

last week I purchased a set of Work Emotions off of the Advertisers specials segment from the user "Axiom-Power" . It now turns out that it is a Scam. So just for the benefits of others I am curious if Zilvia does any background research on there advertisers? Are the pictures that are featured on the front page a default of what is the top post in the advertisers section, because it sure gives the impression that you guys back these people? Sorry for the rant, just pissed off and concered. I have tried to contact an admin. but I can't even click on the "contact us" link so I figured I would bring my concerns to the forum!

Good question, I too would like to hear more about this. A lot of vendors were regular members at one point and usually have a well established rep before they start offering goods to the community. I tend to mistrust new vendors that don't post on a regular basis.

dont get pissy at the admins if you get ripped off.. might as well complain to your ISP for allowing you to go on the internet to get ripped off.. imo

Try to contact your cc or something

Well of course everyone is looking for a bargain and maybe it was the deal to push em over to pick up the emotions. At the high price of the posters being an example. This states the precedence that yes this forum has scammers not just private sellers but registered advertisers as well.

I am not pointing fingers at Zilvia. I did research them... I should have done more, but I got an email from them, I had there web site, I had good contact with the seller, they where registered here on zilvia, it was a fair price, I didn't try and buy a skyline for $200 or nothing stupid. I think it's just somehting everyone needs to be aware of. Don't let a false security lead you to do something if it's not true. The twist with this problem, is the actual owner of axiom-power believes this maybe to be a preivous employee who is the "web-master" or whatever they are called so he controls the web site...www.axiom-power.com So it's a pretty tough one to see coming!

And how is Zilvia supposed to handle and verify situations like this?

That sounds like a company problem if they can't control their email addresses or website.

agree w/ dousan, pay the extra cash for the piece of mind, but i think people assume that beacuse its a zilvia.net advertiser they must be reliable. But its aparently not the case. Hope you get your $ back to OP. contact paypal and credit card immediately. and i think in the buy and sell forums there is a "what to do if you get scammed over the internet" sticky that is pretty detailed.

Spoke to the owner of Axiom-Power on the phone.

The Axiom-Power account is back under the control of the owner of the company. Evidently it was being used by an unauthorized person (ex-employee?)

Yeah, I think Dousan summed it up.

Make sure you guys buy from AUTHORIZED DISTRIBUTORS!

There is a reason why companies like A Spec take the time and effort to become authorized.

Buy from Zilvia vendors who have paid their dues (not literally, but figuratively) and have a track record on here, like Touge Factory, SPL Parts, R&D Factory, etc.

Look at the feedback thread and see what other have to say about that company. Don't believe everything you read, but if other valued members of this forum have good things to say, then it's probably a legit company.

Saving money is NOT the number one goal in life guys! Yes, getting a good deal is great, but you can't always think in dollar signs. I am not saying that because I am after your money (most of you know that), but rather because as consumers you need to appreciate the industry more, especially GOOD vendors. Sometimes it costs money for quality service and reliability, rather than playing russian roulette with a fishy low price.

As far as Axiom Power goes, I wasn't going to say anything, but it seemed fishy from the start.

First off the "webmaster" guy posted as a screenname "SPL" and didn't want to say what shop it was from. Even after SPL Parts asked them nicely to changed their screenname to avoid confusion. They didn't have any info in their signature, any contact info, no website, etc. Then the mods here asked them to post as Axiom Power and then they changed their screen name.

Then they posted up a sale on Advan TCII wheels that they said were in stock (with wide and low offsets that the importer never have brought in), and after a bunch of people asked for pics, they said they were sold all of a sudden.

After that, this CR Kai situation happened. I wasn't surprised.

I am not bad mouthing Axiom Power in any form or fashion, but rather the "person" who used their account and how obviously sketchy it was.

Shit, I'm a 20 year old, dirt poor, college student and I still do the same. I find companies that I like and I stick to them. I would much rather spend extra money with a reputable seller to know that I am getting what I paid for and to help keep them around so I can do the same in the future.

another thing you can do is just post a thread like this before even purchasing.

if no one knows who the person is or cant even vouch simply just dont buy from them.

Everything said by Aaron and Logan = win.The businesses that they listed are the few shops I buy from. Their prices are great, as is their customer service.

I mean, how many people are as pimp as Logan. haha.

Props to RJF for getting down and dirty figuring this little mess out.

Well i maybe wrong here. There may have been some confusion with what was going on. But there some odd things with the pics of the wheels. I know this is not in jons personality. He is not some one that would rip some one off, he is just kind of lazy. That is why i found it odd. I am sorry if i jumped to conclusions. I think that the best thing to do is do an isp search.

There are three places to buy stuff from

www.SPLparts.com
www.Aspecproducts.com
www.performancenissanparts.com

If you've never had any of it at all, people just seem to know.

I am not trying to take sides in this, but this is what Jon posted on another forum in response to this accusation.

From what I know of Jon and from talking to him fairly regularly he is a pretty decent guy who doesnt seem stupid enough to try something as idiotic as this, even if he feels he was wronged by axiom.

Update on the scam. I must have done something right, the kid gave me a full refund through paypal! Just to clear up some of the comments that are being posted on this thread. All I want to bring to attention is that the scam artist are trying all sorts of new tricks and that everyone needs to look out for suspicious stuff so we can continue to have forums like this and conduct buisness. The next thing that needs to be cleared up is this was not a case of... wow I am getting an awesome deal, I better just buy them. The guy did everything just like any other authorized dealer would.... decent price, just reduced for a special, only would deal with an authorized paypal account, provided contact info as soon as I asked.... again sorry for the ramble, just be cautious.... any body else who does have any info on this please contact me, I am putting together a file of all the complaints so that the real owner of axiom-power can take this to court, he is suffering much more than I am because of this!

Here is the deal. Jon AKA(PAIKMAN) used to work for axiom. He posts the work emotions/ advan tc's and greddy turbo kit for sale, under the name axiom. Here comes the kinky part none of these part exist. The pics of the work emotions that he posted and said were for sale were pics of his wheels from 2 years ago. he is basicly selling wheels for axiom that he sold a year ago to scam money. So there is a guy that he just scamed for the works, and posted and said that he just got scamed and to watch out. and then jon deletes the post so that no one would see it.
So basicly JON AKA(PAIKMAN) is using the Axiom acount to scam people for parts that don't exist. Thats a pretty big deal. There is at least two people that already got scamed.
SO i am wondering if you can reopen the tread for the work emotions that jon AKA(PAIKMAN) delatled because some guy already got ripped off.

If this is not jon doing this. then it could be his room mate moses.
Um ok. This was just flagged to my attention.
First off this is retarded, as for dealing with Axiom, I actually want
NOTHING to do with that company at all and have not for the
past 4-5months.
Secondly, you can ask anyone who has done business with me, on this site included even recently, that I always ship within schedule, via
Fedex with a REAL tracking number and let them know.
Thirdly, I would hate to say it, but Kyle does have some kind of personal vendetta against me, and this "noob"ish style of selling would fit in with his
current knowledge of the internet. When it failed to gain him some quick cash,
he was easily able to dump his problems on me.
As for any pictures, I have not seen the actual post, I do remember Logan mentioning it to me, otherwise I'm sure I would've flagged it right away
recognizing pictures. I did have about 200 pictures saved onto the axiom
HD for my own personal and business uses, and Kyle knows where those are as well.
Not that it's much, but I'm more than content with it, I make over $5500 in my pocket every month at my new job. Erik I know you can't quite understand what that feels like, but when you are getting around that much, the need to scam and ruin your reputation for like what, MAYBE 1500-2000 total before you would get shutdown, that kind of desire doesn't really exist at all.
I can make that much selling one car, legit, and have a paper trail for it.
As for SPL thing, I had told Kyle there was another vendor with SPL, spl parts ( i mean shit i ordered KTS coils from them about 2 years ago), but he had said he did NOT want the axiom name under the site so he could
undercut everyone's prices without getting caught by the major retailers
such as Tanabe USA, Mackin Industries, and greddy pp.
Just to give you guys an idea the kind of person he is as well,
when he become slightly upset at a person, and tried to swing a Honda B series camshaft and cursed at me for not locking the door when the customer
tried to flee for his life. He also said he regretted not hitting him squarely on the head later and "cracking his fucking skull open".
This is the kind of man we are dealing with. Randy ( a nissan guy) and Jun his other mechanics can easily vouch for his behavior like this and will vouch for my upstanding at the shop during my time there if needed if I bring them on here. And I also have like 100's of supporters on NWN so go there if you guys need something. LEAVE ME OUT OF THIS BS.

to anyone who's considering buying from 'paikman', I would highly recommend it ~ honest, great contact, and he even split the paypal fees with me
yeah im the MODEL of a scammer right? Ask any of these two guys in most recent transactions.
