I have a 90 fast back.  How am I supposed to know if the ECU is having error codes?  I know that in California u have a lil engine symbol but that is for emmisions, I'm talking about a regualr check engine light, NOT EMMISIONS!!!!  My #### car won't let me rev past 5 and I think there is a prob.

hmm, someone else had that problem earlier in here, i dont remember who though. i thought it may have been caused by passing redline too much, b/c that causes the cam to bounce around and can lead to big problems (he also said his car made a loud noise when he got to 5000rpm) . i think it may be that the ecu has to be reset, try going to a dealer and have them check it out.

Resetting your ecu is easy. Goto www.240sx.org and goto the FAQ link.

Your ECU is located behind the passenger firewall kickpanel. Unscrew the four 10mm bolts and rotate it around so that you can access the flathead screw (used to manipulate the diagnostic modes). Follow the instructions in the FAQ for specifics, but basically you will turn on your ignition, turn the screw clockwise to desired diagnostic mode, start the car, read the code, turn screw back to original position.

Its easy, no need to pay the Nissan dealer 50 bucks to read a LED for you.

Ciao
