ECU code 11 then 21
Just swapped a motor into my car and it fired up fine first try drove it for a day then it will not start. I checked everything in the engine bay then I checked the ECU for codes...I got 11 and 21. This means the crank angle sensor is faulty. Should I just change it or is there something I over looked or could do instead.
The car is a 1989 nissan 240sx hatchback with a dual cam KA in it any help is appreciated! thanks

Since there is no way of testing the cas without an oscilloscope you should just check the wiring from the sensor to the ecu. That way, if the wiring checks out good, you know that it is the sensor and you should just replace it. I doubt the pcm burned because that doesnt really happen often, but id still pray for the best.

I just replaced the ignitor and the cas and still nothing? I'm pretty pissed I got the car running and let it sit for a week and this happened!!!!!

Check fuses and make sure everything is plugged in first. then the dist cap and rotor for anomolies . then the ecu and harness for burn marks.
jiggle connections especially the ecu plug to see if things change. Last edited by yukon; 01-09-2010 at 02:08 AM.. |

If youre getting everything except spark then start at the plugs and work your way back to find where voltage was lost. Also, did you check the wiring for shorts and/or opens or did you just throw parts at it. If so, results?
