Should fit fine. When I put a custom deck in my s14 SE, I bought a harness adapter for it and when I did, no one asked if mine was SE or base. Leads me to believe that wire harness is identical for both models. Just speculation though.

The harness adapter is the same because ultimately the inputs and outputs of the units are the same, but they have slight internal differences. Reference Russ/R240's post above and the EL section of the FSM.

No it will not. The CD deck is a preamp unit, and the base models do not have an external amplifier to run the speakers. It plugs in and turns on fine but you won't have any sound.

s14dr1ft3r- Please don't answer a question with speculation.

You're right. Speculation leads people down the possible wrong path. I'll keep my mouth shut if I don't know what I'm talking about. Thanks for setting me right.

No need to take it personal, it's just that there's enough bad info online already and plenty of people who don't read past the first sentence to differentiate.

^^^ Nothing personal taken...I wasn't being sarcastic. I honestly agree with you. I didn't know the answer sO I thought I'd try to reason toward it but ended up being wrong. And like you said, a lot don't read past the first post so I may have lead someone astray. My bad...honestly.
