Changing plugs this weekend, what should they be gapped to?

Not sure what plugs I'm buying, but I'm more or less just curious about what gap to use. Suggestions on plugs for under $10 are welcome too.

.44 is OE. NGKs of any kind are all you should use, nothing else.

Types of plugs depends. If you have an S14 it recommends platinum plugs. Those can get expensive. I opted for the NGK iridium plugs for my S14 and never had problems. They showed good wear after about 60000 miles.

In my S13 I just have Nissan OEMs (NGK) from courtesy nissan....they work fine, proper wear. I also have an MSD ignition upgrade w/coil and the only thing you have to check is the gap as they wear.

hope this helps.

There's different kinds of platinums. the double tipped and quad tipped are more efficient but cost ALOT more. I can't remember reading that platinums for the S13 is a recommendation, but it couldn't hurt.

EDIT: Here's some NGK platinums but IIRC the platinums are only needed for the S14, both models. And they're alot more than 5 bucks a plug

Just get OEM NGKs for an S13 should be fine.

Here's some different one's I've never seen for the S13 KADE

Okay, okay one more......the iridiums

Platinum's are recommended for the average car owner that won't replace their plugs when they are supposed to. Last longer than copper but perform worse. Iridium typically give you the best of both worlds but are $.
