It's been a while since I've flushed my brakes so I'm going to do it soon. I know you're supposed to do it starting with the "longest" brake line, but is it the driver side rear, or passenger side rear that should be first?

1. passenger rear
2. driver rear
3. passenger front
4. driver front

or

1. driver rear
2. passenger rear
3. passenger front
4. driver front

Additional question:

I replaced all my pads with Hawk HPS 6 months ago. However, I did not change the passenger rear pads because the caliper had seized and I couldn't get the piston to retract into the caliper. The pads that were on it still had 2-3mm of material left so I just put it back on. I'm going to purchase a new caliper now and was wondering if it would be ok to use 6 month old brake pads on 1 side and brand new pads on the other side.

actually.... yes, but you'll have to raplace one side before the other. imho i'd get a pair of rears and have 4 new rears. but no it won't hurt to use 6 month old pads and new pads both on the rear.

Check the FSM for the specific pattern for your car. ABS vs. non-ABS.
