i have an 89 240sx with a sr20det and i just swapped out the analog gauge cluster to a digital one and everything works but my speedo. ive tried changing the capacitor, checked all the grounds and leads, and all the fuses but still nothing. when i turn the car on it will come on for about 4-5 seconds then it slowly goes dark. please help me, ive forum after forum trying to find an answer.
oh, and i dont know if it matters or not but the engine that was in it before was a single cam ca18de.

SOHC CA18DE... wow
You may have grabbed the HUD set up from a 91-94 S13 which is exaclty what you want to do.
You also need to swap out the SOHC speedo to a DOHC one (back of tranny). That should take care of the speedometer.

ive already swapped it out but it still goes off after a few seconds

Okay see
i have the same problem with mine.Except I have the stock one that came stock its a 91 with a redtop.
turns on then just goes black.What can I do to fix.
