yeah, read your other posts, you need to tune first, and tune correctly, as in go to a real tuner, (apex's website lists all their authorize tuners),
you can practically destroy your goodies if you have mismatch settings no matter what boost level you're at |

the turbo is good for 36 psi from what i understand. i talked to a turbo specilists in here in cinci and they are a dealer for garrett. they said the internal gated 2871 can run 36psi. now are they right i would believe so but somebody correct me if i'm wrong please. and like burgy said it all depends on what supporting mods you have.

36 Psi is SO FAR OUT of the Efficiency it is Crazy.
Safe boost for pump is probably 16psi to be conservative, Other wise i would run Race Gas, Race Blend, Methanol or Water injection to keep it reliable on the street. Same goes for tuning about 10 Fold, without proper tuning you are liable to break something, even at 8psi.

What is the lowest psi the 2871 wastegate will run, i have to limp along with a stock tune and fuel setup till I can afford
![]() im hoping I can do like 10psi, i figure the 2871's CFM's at that level match the T25 at ~14 |

thanks for not answering my question. my motor's out of my car (rod bearings, clutch) in my dad's garage and he needs me out as soon as possible. if i could sit on it and take up his space for another month, i would.
at this point im only concerned with being able to drive the car. im honestly sorry i ever signed up to this forum. |

You got one response and you are bitching? Why are you taking apart an engine if you have no clue what you are doing? Just run the wastegate so it dumps all the time. This way you will not have to worry about boost.

It doesn't matter what the wastegate will GO to
don't let it boost you dumb fuck... learn something about cars before you go ahead building a 400hp motor

Doing a quick compressor map, 20/21 psi is at the limit. I think with the ball bearing CHRA, 22-24 would be ok for 'dyno' runs and or an occasional maxed out drag setup.

I was running @1.2 bar, pretty sure you can push it to 1.5.
As far the ungrateful bastard goes, go ahead and slap it on. Boost it to 10 and enjoy it while it last on stock 370cc injectors and no tuning. |

yeah, we're here trying to tell you how important tuning is, that's probably the #1 reason people blow up engines
(i don't have any empirical evidence, but you get the point) it may be expensive to tune, but it cost alot more to rebuild an engine |

If your running colder plugs (good quality ones gapped down low ie. .028) and running an AFR in the 10.9:1 range you can pull off 19 psi even with a big turbo like a gt3076r.
Its all in the tune...the timing at that pressure/load point etc. Id say 17-18 psi is safe with a ngk range 7 plug gapped to .028 running a lamda of around .738-.748 or so. so a little on the rich side at peak cylinder pressure.

Wow 10.9 is really gas guzzling it. Didn't know people tuned to 10.9. You can also more safely retard the timing at the top under max load, give it more crank leverage.

With the introduction of e10 into gas nationwide, I can predict AFR normalcies getting lower and lower...

What is e10? Are you serious getting lower? Its going to guzzel gas like mad. I mean from a 14 AFR to like a 10.5, you will almost lose 5-8 miles per gallon conservatively. DANG!!
