ok i have a little problem the driveshaft has about a half a inch of play. t is coming from the tail or the transmssion there is a bearing there but have some questions.1. can the bearing be replaced if so do i have to drop the tranny?2.where would i get the bearing from does any other car share this bearing?3.do i need a new trans.? thank you

forgot to add the car is leaking trans fluid and the seal was changed still leakng which s why i assumed it is the bearing also a local mechanic who took a look at it agreed

The bearing is the same as the KA manual trans.

You'll probably want to drop the trans and split it open to press it out. Maybe you could get it out with a slide hammer while in the car? You'll also have to replace the seal.

thank you very much john thankfully i didnt get rid of the ka trans yet would it be a bad move to put a used one in if it does not have any play?

yeah, just go new, its not too expensive

(cant get it out with slide hammer, output shaft is in the bearing... duh..)
