Z32 rear caliper worth it??

i have the rear z32 calipers installed on my S14 but dont have the ebrake's on. this car is giong to be used mainly for drifting.

so my question is should i go ahead and keep the rear z32 calipers and just find the ebrakes or can i get a rear big brake kit (30mm rotors for stock rear calipers) and have similar results?

not having to mess with the ebrake line sounds so good...

Well..........if you drift your car the Z32 e-brake is your best friend. Its a much better system of e-braking then a stock setup, where you use the rotor itslef to e-brake, as opposed to the Z32's using the inner hub of the rotor.

You can cut a hole in the rear floor board and do it flinstone style. Do it right find the ebrake assembly and put that shit in. Its not so hard put some proj mu d1 drum shoes and there you go locking ebrake for days. last ive seen drum brake assemblies are about 100 plus r33 gtr lines for 75

no, it's not. he's asking if he should finish the z32 setup with a functioning parking brake or put the stock caliper back on with a bracket and bigger rotor.

i personally think just getting rid of the shitty stock rear calipers (they freeze up and leak all the time) makes the z32 system worth it. you won't be disappointed with the z32 and getting the parking brake functioning isn't hard. just get r33 cables. they're a little expensive but a cinch to install.

If i were you, I'd just save up and do things right the first time. The r33 e-brake cables you can get for around $80 at www.mynismo.com and maybe at courtesy nissan. brake-lines lines can be obtained around $80 or so at splparts.

the hardware is more of a pita to locate, but you should have no prob eventually finding something either from the junkyard, some of the nissan forums, or e-bay.

Imo its a nice setup and I think its worth it (when matched with the appropriate front brakes and a larger brake MC, of course).

you have to purchase a setup from a company like Wilwood, which makes a separate e-brake setup

it really sounds like you should just do the 300zx calipers and e-brake for ease

eh Project Mu Rear Pads is enough to lock up the rear wheels enough to do a bihoku entry , dont over complicate things with Hydro e-brake.

Factory designed balance can sometimes be perfection. +1 for finishing the swap.

you will never regret it.

do the z32 swap with the r33 ebrake cables.

they lock up super fast and u don't even have to pull so hard,. perfect for those ebrake drifts.

what the other guy said about the project mu d1 brake shoes, not a bad idea, esp for drifting with ebrake. but how is it driving on the street (daily driving).. it shouldnt' be bad, since i dont think u gotta pull the parking brake for everyday driving, unless you're parking. but i mean braking wise.. do you lose the brakes in the rear? from having the project mu d1 shoes?

why do people look for confirmation for a question that was already answered (i assume that's what he's doing, either that, or he's a complete idiot) in the same place it was just asked? of course we're going to give you the same answer. if you want real confirmation, search somewhere else, other threads, other forums, google, etc.
