can i snap if i weld?

i AM going to weld my diff either way no matter what, but i was talking to a young man today by the name of charles barkley and he told me, that if i welded my diff i would be in danger of possibly snapping my axle? and i searched about welded diff "dangers," didnt see shit about this... let me know if this is true so ill know if i need to buy backup axles... thanks!

i broke an axle w/ a nismo 2 way, a friend did on his hachi w/ a 2 way... its happens... as far as are you more prone... i dont think so....i had a welded diff for almost a year and never had any problems (no broken axles)... AND i drove in the rain plenty of times and never wrecked my car which seems to be a miracle if you let anybody on the internet tell it... if you know how to drive you wont wreck...dont drive like an idiot u'll be fine. argh...end rant

weld it...u'll be fine... + axles are cheap as hell anyway
