I had a front end collision about 6 months ago. The frame damage included a ripped out bumper support bolt and bent up radiator support.The damage was repaired by a body shop that bent the metal back into place (to save costs rather than having them weld in new support.) The car is currently repaired with all panels aligned properly, so I'm assuming that the frame is in proper alignment. Now that I drive the car up to 65, i get a noticeable steering wheel vibration, but past that it isn't so bad (80+). Is this frame still good? What could be causing this?

did you check to see if any of the suspension components were damaged?

my s14 was hit the same way on the passenger side but didnt touch the frame rails. you should be able to see them beside the engine on each side to check for damage. have you had the front end checked? get your allignment checked, along with your toe, and camber, and caster. go to a good shop though, alot of people dont know how to correct all that. a reputable shop would be able to provide you with a printout of what they corrected so request one if you can. it doesnt look bad from the pics though. good luck

My car had similar damage, it didnt look too bad from the outside, but the VERY front of the rail was kinked.
Nothing enough to affect alignment issues nor body panel alignment issues either.

Alignment.. like others said, just take it to a quality shop and they should be able to figure it out.
Plus, check your bushings/linkage and most importantly your lugnuts..
lol, I've seen people complain of juddering/shaking and it was the lug nuts.

Get the wheel completely flush on the hub/rotor while the wheels are completely off the ground.
then drop it and torque it down.

could be suspension or steering, could be the alignment, bent wheel/wheel out of balance, wheel bearing....

i'd jack up the front end (rested on jackstands, not just a jack alone) and give everything the once over.

I can't believe I forgot to mention that I had a really good alignment on it also, after repairs. I have also tested car with even tire pressure, slight improvement. I was thinking suspension damage?

X3. if the vibration goes away then its in the wheel. get them balanced. Im almost willing to bet money the vibration goes away. if not then you got a bent wheel.

cost $2000 for parts and paint
