yet another tension rod question

i checked the bushings on my tension rod. seems to be a good amount of cracking around it. my question is would this cause a squeeking noise when i slow down to make a turn, i dont even have to press the brakes to hear this noise, checked hub bearings, brakes, power steering rack, tranny just filled it with mt90 and everything seems to be fine.
