So I am driving down I-95 minding my own business at about 65mph (I drive like a grandma 9/10ths of the time) then I see a sign that says "bump" so i slow down and hit the dip from the road resurfacing. Now I am on unpaved road and still cruising at 65. Then I see another sign that says bump and I slow down again for the end of the resurfacing but this bump was different....very different! I hit it @ 55 and it sounded like I slamed into the back of another car.

After further inspection at my house I realize that my tie rod is bent and the bushing is toast And the car pulls to the left and feels like it floats when I hit any and all road inperfections

So now I am off the the Nissan dealership to order my new parts :$$$: and going to sweat it out installing them this evening

Just had to vent

I know exactly where you wer talking about, esspecially if it was late at night on 95 south. I was lucky because they opened the HOV lane so I missed all the bumps. Sorry to hear that man...where you on the far right? because most of this work was on the far left.

man thats got to suck, but definatly call teh dept or transportation to botch, that way you wont have to pay for those $$$ nissan parts, if it could cause that much damage, then they should have posted more of a warning sign

Getting money out of the city will be nearly impossible. Depending on the roadwork, they contract companies so you'll be sent to them. The company will say they're not liable and to contact the city... you'll just keep getting the runaround. I've had many friends who've gotten bent rims, etc.. and tried to get something, but don't end up with shiet. At least that's how it is in the bay area. But hey, it's worth a shot, but don't set your hopes too high. Good luck and sorry to hear bout that.
