Purchasing S14 Rear Hubs

I need kinda a quick answer to this.

I went to Kragen and ordered rear hubs for an S14 SE for my 5 lug conversion. I told them that 4 lug was useless and that they can keep it if they send me the 4 lug version.

So anyway, they came in today, and while I haven't had a chance to look at them, the guy on the phone said that it WAS the rear hub assembly, but it wasn't the piece that has the studs. WTF did they send me? Is it the spindles? If it is the spindles, do I need them?

If they are spindles, and I don't need them, I can have them returned, but what parts do I need? "Hub Assembly" apparently doesn't cut it.

And does anyone have pics of EXACTLY what I need?

EDIT: I have every single other piece that I need for this conversion. All the brake parts, and all the parts for the front end 5 lug conversion.

You dont need the rear spindles because you'll use the ones you already have. They could have sent you the spindles, but....you should have had the guy describe what he had there on the phone. Some junkyards sell the spindles with the hubs attached....and call that whole peice the "hub" or the "spindle"...when its actually 2 separate parts. Just have them send it back if its the wrong peice. I wasn't aware the hub could be taken apart..but maybe it can...and if so....maybe they sent you the bearing and housing or something....which does you no good....but....as far as I know its a sealed bearing and not sold in peices...so... If I were you just goto the junkyard and pick up 2 1990-1996 rear 300zx hubs at $35 a peice....they will work...and...you will know right there that they are 5 lug...cause they never came in 4 lug.

Do I need the whole thing in that picture, or can I get the hub WITHOUT the rectangle piece in the back with the four bolt holes?

Hmm.

The guy I was getting them from seperated it because the bolts on the rectangle piece rounded off.

Any recommendations? Take the whole spindle off and I'll cut the bolts off myself?

I would get your hubs from another source then. I guess you could always source new studs for the hubs, but I've never seen the hubs for sale in peices. Bad news.

Yeah. I will just try to find one as soon as possible; my car is on jackstands, so the sooner, the better. Gotta hit all the junkyards this week, and I have some friends looking for hubs too.

Anyone know if the rear Z31 hubs will work?

Just goto www.car-parts.com and search the Pacific Northwest (or just the West) for 90-96 rear 300zx NA (NA only) hubs. Call them up and see if they will ship them to you. OR...you could always just call around the local junkyards and see if they have them there. The going rate is probably around $50 each.....so I definately wouldnt pay more than $75 each.

good luck,

I dont think the TT's will work because I believe that the axles splines that plug into the hub's holes are thicker.

Fucking idiots, bumping a four old thread and still providing shit ass information. TT Z32 hubs will NOT work, period.

Auto parts chain stores do not sell the hubs, only the bearings, which you already have.

NA Z32 or S14/S15. Welcome to Earth.
