What type of automatic tranny fluid should i get

Anybody know what kind of auto tranny fluid nissan recommends?

my car is a 1997 240. i need to drain the fluid and replace it but not sure what kind it takes. thanks.

also what is the BEST filter to use when replacing?

Use a dextron III fluid. I think what nissan used/recommended from the factory isnt even available anymore. I think it was dextron II or something like that.

You will want to use the transmission fluid made for Automatic transmissions. It will have the letter "ATF" printed on the front somewhere.

Lucas Oil makes decent transmission fluids.
