umm....I'm going to leave the flaming and bashing to someone else....

I will keep it simple....my advise if to find a 95-96 if you plan on changing the front end to the S-15 look....that is what you mean right? It's just cheaper and the taillights are better. As for the SR it's worth it and I have heard that its easy to do.....

But forreal I really think you should have done some searchin' before making this thread.

So which silvia front end are you planning to convert your silvia front end to?

The S14 240sx front is the same as the S14 Silvia front end, save for a few minor differences in the headlight construction (glass vs. plastic, projector placement slightly differs, and the light spread is reversed) and the lack of a stock front lip spoiler (which is a dealer option).

Actually, the bumper covers were completely different 240SX vs. Silvia in '97-'98. The Japanese bumper was smoother and the front park/turn lights wrapped around the side.

The front lip spoiler we didn't see in '97-'98 (except as a dealer option) was a standard item on European and Australian models (200SX) which used the same bumper we had.

First off, I agree with GT specR, get a 95-96 s14, they'll be cheaper, easier to find, and use that for the swap.

Second off, I think if you can do engine swaps in other cars, it should be easy for you, otherwise, I'd find someone who has. Also, make sure you get a complete uncut wiring harness. And get a SR from a reputable dealer, that way you KNOW what you're getting. I've heard of many people getting crappy engines, some don't even start.

Third, before doing anything, go through this forum, 240sx.org, and freshalloy.com(including forums), read through FAQ's, etc. and learn as much as you can right off. If I'd done that, I'd have a monster 240, as I spent a LOT of money unwisely, I only wish someone would have told me that back when I bought my 240.

i'm glad you are so appreciative of the free service that is provided. i'm sure everybody will be eagerly awaiting the next opportunity to assist in another one of your projects. and there's no need to even have the car, the money, or the knowledge. people love it when you ask these types of questions........they really do.

Uhh how bout you don't sell the talon

Yeah, don't mind tnord, he likes flaming noobz lol Yeah anyways. That whole jdm thing is bs and a waste of money. If you are doing it cuz of the cool JDM word, than read my first sentence. if you really like these cars, then get a 97 240sx, leave the front the way it is, and look into turboing the ka. Yeah, lotsa people say it's a truck engine, but in hte n/a mode it kinda puts out more than n/a sr. And it's .4L bigger!! and turboing it is gonna cost you as much as the swap.
