![]() I just finnished making a siginal converter for the speedo and wired everything in my car last night. Everything works good, i even made the speedo read in mph not kph.
If there is any interest i can make a writeup with schematics on how to do it. ![]() |

Signal IN = 4.5hz/mph sine wave Signal Out = 12.5hz/mph 0-5v square wave If you look at the datasheets for the ICs (google) you can find the formulas on how all the parts interact. |

I think thats pretty cool. Its very unique. Im not trying to sound like a smartass either. but looking at the schematics.....no thank you. lol

So did you get the mileage to read as well?? That is a very nice project you have underway. I'm rooting to see the complete finished product

that secmatic is super simple. look at the pic of the board. anyone with a couple of years in electronics experience could make this up for you in under 30 min tops with all the parts. and i bet most of those pars are easy to some by... am i wrong OP?

Thats fucking badass, that might be an option for my track car where dash fit and finish won't be as big a deal as a street car....

yes it does read MPH even though the meter says KPH
so 20kph = 20mph and 100kph = 100mph and so on speed sensor = 4.5hz/mph sine wave s15 cluster input = 12.5hz/number on meter 0-5v square wave s13 ecu speed input = 0.5hz/mph 0-5v square wave designing the converter took about 3 days in my offtime at work but building it too maybe 1 hour. my hands are kinda shakey. the parts are all basic stuff except for the lm2917 and the lm231. i had to order those. |

ok just got the temp gauge working correctly. a 200ohm resistor needs to be added somewhere between the gauge and the sensor. i put mine about an inch down the wire from the guage.
