Ok, I just got a Bomz strutbar to find that it doesn't clear the hood, it won't close all the way down. I've decided to bump up the hood to give more space. What do i need to do this? Can I just put in some washers where it connects to the hinge or is it more complicated? What size washers would I need? Any advice would be great! Thanks

just throw some washers on but make sure you leave enough threads in the hood to hold it up.

Sounds like a lot of work for a cheap, poorly designed product. I'd either send it back, or eat the $20 and order one that actually fits (and probably works better) before hacking up the hood hinges and screwing up seam spacing just to fit a stb. I still think you have a wrong part. If it was actually designed that poorly, i wouldn't consider putting it on my car.

that's lame man. dont' screw the lines of your car just to use some ghetto STB that doesn't fit right. Throw it on ebay or something and get one from PDM, but don't screw up the fit/finish of your car to use some cheesy bar.

If it didn't fit it's either the wrong model, for the wrong series car (s13 and s14s are not interchangable, nor are 180sx and silvia), or it's just a really cheap product. Bomz? never heard of that one... sure sounds like a ricer company tho... mad tyte y0!

I think it looks kinda cool with the hood lifted up . Although my car isn't even hookedup or anything that's what bigtime draggers do when they have oversized turbines. But other than it looking lame (according to some folks) does it hurt the car in anyway??

Well, I don't know if this helps but heres the link to the auction and it has pics:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymot....OA:MT:2

I love where it says "Unlike the other strut bars on the market, Bomz Racing Strut Tower bar is 5 times Stronger than the others."

Hehe, shoulda just went with a reputable brand...

The funny thing is that it's exactly the same design as the one from PDM; I'm using the PDM one and it makes a HUGE difference, and no problems w/ fit.

Actually, I had the exact opposite problem; the valve cover would rub the underside of the bar so I had to jack it up w/ a couple washers, which I'm not crazy about.
On the other hand, I took it off for a week just to see if I could really feel a difference, it's amazing how much that bar does...

GUYS! I got it on and it fits good! The expert mechanic within me thought i had it one right but i guess not. At first I was trying to adjust the bar to make it the longest it can be and still fit in, so I just did the opposite and made it the shortest as possible and it fits totally fine! Well, like an inch above the valve cover maybe?

Sorry to waste all your precious time with my stupidity! I hope I will be able to repay you with advice (prolly won't want it from me . Thanks you all for helping none the less!
