Yellow STI injectors DO work

Well, I put the yellow STI side feed injectors in my car, and it started right up and idled "okay" I could tell it was running a little rich, but it wasn't going to stall, I have yet to install the Z32 MAF or the ECU (both I have, doing that tomorrow, it got too dark). Just letting everyone know there is a nice low cost alternative out there. Hell, you can get them remained from autoparts giant for about $190 for a set of four.

Everything I have read tells me they are 550 high impedance. If anyone has any information that does not correspond to this please let me know. My ECU is chipped so I can tune it for the proper injector size.

High impedance means you need to wire in a resistor, right? Is that complicated at all?

Are you talking about a sr or ka? Not that it would matter much but i would still like to know.

both KA and SR are high imp sidefeed.
which means, its a direct drop-in.
minus the plugs/clips.

I know they fit into our rails (KADE & SR) but the connector is slighty different did you have to change them to teh Sti connector?

Actually its the other way around. If the injectors are LOW impedance and the ECU requires HIGH impedance, then yes you would require to use a resister to change the impendance of the injectors from LOW to HIGH, otherwise you will burn out the injector driver in the ECU (BAD!!!) because it would draw too much current, lower ohms equals higher current draw, like speakers (I believe). However, from what I have heard if the ECU uses low impedance, and you put in high,, you don't need to do anything.

However the ECU uses HIGH imp and the injectors are HIGH imp (from what I've heard). So you don't need to do anything

Yes I had to change the plugs, that was pretty easy, I made quick disconnect pigtails, so I can change out the Sr20's 370's or the STI's 550's

BTW,, they don't have to be a STI plugs,, Legacy plugs will work too (that's what I used)

you just need the clips/plugs, whatever you want to call it.
and you splice it with STI clips.
hopefully you got it with the injectors.. if not, more than likely, autoparts store will have em.

there are two wires, and only two wires.
its really self explanatory after the drop-in.

Here is a picture of the plugs and injectors for the Sti injectors and im almost positive they are high impendence just like our injectors.

Yeah,, that's pretty much them,, You can go to Autoparts Giant and pick up some remans for $165, or new Pythons for $190. Either way, its DIRT cheap for a nice injector upgrade. Look up part# 842-18132

The hardest part is gonna be finding the connectors for the Sti injectors as im sure there not easy to find separately

Actually, not too hard to find,, you can use a Subaru Legacy plugs. There are a lot more Legacies then STI's

So basically, these are brand new 550, drop in (minus wiring) for 190$.

Yeah,, hell of a cheaper alternative. I've seen them used go for ~$100-$120 (that's what I got mine for), and remanned for $190-$200.

For $190 where, is that for a set? I know you can get them from Autozone for $99.99 an injector but $190 for a set is awesome

It's $47/ injector, so that comes out to ~$190,

Go to Autoparts Giant, and look up 2004 Subaru Impreza STI Turbo 2.5 injectors

I've been told they're 520cc, not 550, by a guy who has done quite a bit of Nissan tuning with them. Anything to that?

hmm just replaced boss' STI injectors with power enterprise 850s. i have to clip his old clips off and use the PE ones. anyone want them?

I do to bad you could send them with the turbo you already sent.

I guess you could up the fuel pressure a few pounds and make them flow 550 without a prob,, I'm guessing running around 49psi instead off 43.6 should get you at 550cc.
