bad things happened... need a little help

alright so i was screwin around and racing some car... about 5-10 minutes after that my cars thermostat reads to the high heavens. i pulled over, filled the radiator back up, and went home for the night. the next day i started it up and heres what happens;

the thermostat reads hot really fast after starting, when i turn the heat on it comes out cold.

i searched around but i didnt find any match of these two symptoms. any opinions are appreciated

Try replacing your thermostat.

you might have a bad tstat, an air bubble in your system, your radiator might be plugged, or you might have blown your hg.

most likely not the hg but you might want to look into bleeding your system first. make sure your cts is working ( the single wire one)

i am not sure, but maybe a fwd sr20 maybe a ka? try and let your car heat up and then wiggle it around. but i dont think that it is your problem. may be but probably not.try and bleed it.

my s10 that i have with a bhg idles at perfect temp, but when i drive it it heats up quick, and then when i idle again it drops in temp real quick.

Kinda makes it sound like you knew your rad was leaking. Why race somebody if your car is fucked up?

Ok, first here are some things to try:

1. Make sure your fans are working (most likely not your problem)
2. Bleed your coolent system
3. Check to see if your rad. cap is bad
4. See if your thermostat opens up, if you need a new one for the sr get the nismo one from justin at west covina.

thats all i can think of.

ps i doubt your turbo is blown

squeeze the upper radiator hose and see if you feel it pulsating or bubbling. most likely thermostat or air in the system.. dont know tho.. maybe your heater core is bad

do you have pressure in your system?

i would say to start with bleeding your coolant since its cheap/free to do yourself. if you dont know how search " bleeding coolant"

^^^ Heater core hose...goes from the block, into the heater core under your dash.

If they leak, and/or come off...coolant dumps onto your bellhousing.
