Car doesnt rev past 3000 rpm

Ok so this is my problem. Today in the morning i was on my way to work. I was sitting in the car and it just stalled on me. 1st time it does this. So i thought that was weird and thought nothing of it. So i finally get rolling and im up to 3000 rpm's and the car just doesnt go past that. Feels as if it was being over rev'd but at 3000 rpm's. Anyone have any ideas. Going to a shop so they could check it out later on. Thanx

SR? KA? Help us out here. This question has been asked at least 1000 times as well, try a search.

If it's an SR, or a KA-T, check for boost leaks. See if an intercooler hose popped off. Check your MAF sensor, see if the plug came loose, or if you have vacuum leaks anywhere.

yeah sounds like maf. but if you cant boos past 5lbs then you might have a serious boost leak. with maf unplugged you can feel it have like a rev limit around 3~4000. boost leak is just hard getting past 3~4000.
