s13 RPM Tach doesnt work.

Okay, quick history on the car. Its a buddies of mine.

89 240sx
SOHC to a DOHC swap.
Changed clusters to DOHC

I believed it did work at one point, but if im not mistaken, i think it didnt. It just doesnt move. It just sits there. What could it be?

What we've tried:

Replace the whole cluster with a workin one, and still no results.

Any thoughts please.

when you did the swap I'm guessing you have to swap the ecu, check the red/yellow wire(I'm pretty sure thats the tach signal) is connected and not grounding out somewhere... and just make sure you have a dohc tach, the sohc redlines at 6,500 and dohc is 7,000(I'm pretty sure it's 7k I'm too lazy to go outside and check)

any other thoughts on this.

I checked the yellow.red wire, and its connected, so its seems good. However, i did follow it, and it ends in this little connector, only that its like a closed connector.
