s13 RB26DETT question

Oh yeah, it's another one of those...

Well, I did some searching about the RB26 and I was wondering how difficult it is to get one into a s13. I guess I'd want an RB25 tranny or am I misreading/misunderstanding things?

Umm...it's probably not just as easy as buying the motor. Probably going to require an axel and stuff like that. I'm not very gifted in the way of the RB series but I'm completely willing to learn. Please enlighten me, I made this thread to learn

Oh yeah, I also searched for a thread about something like. I might have searched to specific or missed a good thread. Maybe you could point me in the right direction through a pm or something and a mod could delete this thread.

Just go with the RB25. Then you could get an install kit from Syko Performance.

You don't need to replace your axles. But you will need to get the proper length drive shaft.

But ask yourself, what makes you want an rb? Just to say you have one and be different? You're looking at roughly $7~k+ for a 25 swap, and even more for a 26 swap.

There are many threads, maybe search on how to search...

LOL well i wouold suggest you HIGHLY look into your funding. I have a RB25, have installed a couple and it is pretty damn easy. A RB26 however is allot more involving and cost prohibitive. if i had the money to go RB26 i would toss in a LS1 or LS2s as funds dictated and then toss on a turbo if i felt it was too lacking later.

Just MHO on that one.

for cost
RB25 > SR20 <--- My opinions. with a few $K that can change.
LSx > RB26
stock comparison of course. and S13 SRs have come down in price as of late, but i did the 25 swap for under 4K with a list of upgrades and over $300 wasted on a stolen intercooler.

RB25 ftw, it's the nissan lover's poor mans 2j hahaha

i'd go 2j before i went rb26

my Z i'd probably go ls1 twin turbo before i went 26. if my 25 doesn't like high 500's i may just do that =]

we do all we can to get our nissan motors 400+rwhp........v8's make that stock......and you can always put turbo's on those too ^_^. i'm not going v8 any time soon. i like kicking domestics asses with rice too much atm. but seriously....for the money and ease, rb25 should be able to easily meet all your power goals...or at least the ones in your budget. gl man
Dave =]

Hey man do some research call some of the people. I wanted to go RB25DET but it is to expensive because it is not just the motor but the custom motor mounts are expensive. That is the downfall and this is why people go SR because I it stock turbo-ed and fits right in the 240SX. After do some research I decided to go KA-T

Thanks for all the help!

Just one more question so I don't have to start another thread.

What's the colors on the Silvia K called? The two toned ones...it looks like some sort of silver with a black or something...
