I took the stock spoiler off of my 93 fastback. The holes are really rusted, should I fix it up, if so what is the best way to do that, or just get a used rear hatch without a spoiler. I got a quote from one junkyard, they said it'd cost me 200. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I took mine to a body shop with the same problem.  I got the holes shaved as well as the third brake light.  cost me 700CDN but that was from a really good shop.  Look sweet too, im not even gonna get another spoiler.  If you do that, I'd suggest shaving the rear wiper too, it doesnt really serve a purpose.

Id say go get the new hatch, especially if u would find on in ur color, just saves money when u can find one at a good price, plus ur gettin a piece of metal that never had rust in it, and shouldnt give u problems down the road.

Thats what i did after pricing and gettin advice from a few shops

My car is black, the hatch I was looking at is red. I really dont care what the color is, as long as I can find one without a spoiler. But yea, if you find any for cheap, let me know. In the meantime Im gonna keep searching for one.

Let me know what you decide, I know of a couple junk yards around west michigan that have 240s in them that you could check.

James- Good lookin out, I'll get in touch with you If I do decide to go that route. Yea, no spoiler or wiper, that'd be perfect.

Greg- Lets go junkyard shopping, if not just let me know of some places in and around GR, in the meantime I'll just dig around here in holland for it.

Thanks guys!

How hard was it to swap hatches? Those bolts look hard to reach. You you have to caulk or seal anything?
