yep, i made a call to unstable hybrids today, they told me that the project was temporarilly on hold, due to other projects and also in a way due to getting ready and recovering from nopi!!

but i was told to check the website regularly for updates!!

i know i will be!

btw, does anybody know of anybody else aside from these guys that are working on a sc for our powerhouse?

no i dunno bout anyone else , and didn't know they were doing it either. i've always had the impression that a supercharger on a 240 was a little odd , because it's not common or usually worth it to supercharge a 4 cylinder car..but hey , more power to unstable hybrids

IIRC Unstable Hybrids had that project on hold for a while... along with the VG30 swap. IMO, there really isn't enough interest or worth in it to make it worth while anyways, when they can do SR swaps, custom turbo KA's, or RB swaps (which, IIRC, is why they don't really push those other oddball projects along).

I dont think you are crazy for wanting a sc, but turbos are more efficient and arent as hard on your engine as a sc. Only 10 percent of the energy from the combustion in the engine is turned into power the rest is HEAT or exhaust which a turbo uses. But it is all prefference, also a sc will be BIG bucks. Good luck with the project. You could use the supercharger they have for mustangs and make your own brackets and piping and there you have it(maybe not that simple).

Ace is right.. then keep in mind, that your going to spend more money on a sc, its gonna be harder on your engine, and a lot less flexible.

Why would you rather have a Sc?
Please tell me it's not because of lag right?

Either way, from the looks of it it might be easier to use a centrifugal sc as opposed to a roots type. I personaly don't like sc's and dislike centrifugal one's even less but from a fabrication stand point it would be easier since you would still be able to use your stock intake manny.

Just a thought.

Actually, most of the work in an Otto cycle is used in blowing out exhaust, sucking in air/ fuel, and compressing the air/fuel mixture (the last stroke being ignition/ expansion, which is what creates power). Heat IS part of the energy loss, but not the single deciding factor.

Turbo's will actually add stress to the engine almost the same way a supercharger will. The turbine needs pressure to turn, and that pressure comes from the exhaust stroke. This pressure increases the amount of stress on the crank during that exhaust stroke.

So, it's not like turbo charging is perfect over supercharging. Although the engine's efficiency doesn't drop as drastically, it DOES drop... ideally the efficiency of the engine would stay the same as less work is needed on the engine's intake stroke, but we all know this isn't a perfect world.

Just some food for thought I guess.
