clutch pedal feels stiff
all of a sudden my clutch pedal is feeling really stiff. it sounds and feels like the spring in the pedal bracket is binding up or soemthing. anyone else ever had this problem, how did you remedy this problem? i sprayed silicon lube on the spring , still didnt help. im thinkin it might be time to but a clutch pedal.
car is a 97 kouki with 191 thousand miles anyone?

well i just didnt know if it was gonna be worth it to take out and waste a day of trying to fix or just buy a new one.
the clutch pedal dosent come back out pas the free play of the pedal. its still drivable but feels real shitty. ive made a habit of pulling it all the way out with my toe between shifting. ive heard if youre clutch cylinder is going , you will have fluid down by the pedal coming down the firewall? true? i was told that by a dsm guy so .........

If problem persists, then replace clutch master + slave They aren't very pricey parts, and are maintenance things you should do anyhow I just swapped my clutch master + slave the other month, but I had the opposite, it was losing pressure

I inspected my master and slave (was fine), then readjusted the play in my pedal, removed the damper box, installed a braided SS clutch line, bled the entire system and everything was smooth again with no pedal free play. hope that helps... |

sorry to threadjack, but while were on the topic of clutch feel problems..
what if the pedal is just hard to depress? my pedal is so hard that i could launch crap off it if i take my toe off it when its pressed in.. my setup.. new (but cheap) slave tokico master dampener removed act street/strip i was thinking it just may be a matter of adjusting the rod from the master that connects to the pedal..or maybe the slave just sucks and i should get an oem one..

ok checked the bracket situation , and to my surprise its none of the above. the little fork piece that threads goes on to the rod coming out of the master cyl. is broken on one side , letting the rod bind up before being pushed in. id assume this will ruin the master cylinder if i keep driving it this way, so tomm. im going to hit up the junk yard and see if they have one or just onight one from the dealer. thanks for eveyones input

i know this isnt your problem anymore but i figured id share my pedal return woes as well. the clutch assist spring was worn to shit and the 2 little bushings holding it in had broken apart. it was like 20$ total from the dealer for replacements and it completely fixed my problems so thats another thing to check if anybody else out there has this issue.

well, my issue sounds similar.
My clutch pedal is all the way to the floor. i can pull it up, but it drops back down as soon as i touch it. I want to replace the clutch master and slave anyways... any suggestions where to buy OEM other than the dealership? |
