sr20det running like shittttt!

hi i am having a problem with my sr20det motor it sounds like a SUBARU STI .. like its misfiring all the time... when i move the ignitor around it stops but it still getting a bad signal ( but less than before) and as soon as i let go of the ignitor after a bit it sounds like shit
really its awful

is this becaues i need to replace my ignitor??!

it could be that the actual ignitor harness is messing up... this happed to my sr so i ended up going with the splitfire ignition system to fix the problem...

interesting ive never heard of the splitfire ignition system

how much would that cost me?

wow is there a cheaper alternative because 525$ for the splitfire ignition system doesnt sound too appealing

anybody with a cheaper alternative??

yeah, rewire your harness (or at least check the wiring).

Also, check the grounding strap that sits behind the 4th coilpack - make sure it's grounded to the frame.

i bought mine for bout 380 on nengun.com shipped to my house...
it might seem like a bit but its really worth it...

Nah if the engine fires at all, the igniter's most likely good. It's a wiring problem 99%. If you were local I could check it out for ya ~

EDIT: The splitfire system is most definitely NOT worth it. The only advantage it has is once you start pushing SERIOUS power, it makes a better spark. None of the big hp SR guys on here need them, and neither do you. Get a harness that works.
