digital cluster help!!!

hi,
i've been searching around but can't find the answer. I am in the process of buying a digital cluster from a 89 240sx sohc engine for my 92 240sx dohc engine. The question is that will the sohc digital cluster works on my dohc engine??? If not is there a way i can make it work? If anyone have the answer or some links for the answer of my question please post it cause im about to buy it but i need this answer asap.

thanks again

if you put in an analog tach into digital cluster, you'll need to trim the tach piece a little bit.

I have both HUD custers

the tch peices require NO trimming to fit.
the sohc speedo will NOT work with the dohc engine, a resistor has to be installed somewheres to make it work ( im still trying to figure that out )

and vice versa, the tach and speedo signals are different on the HUD clusters, KA to SR or KA to KA swaps ( e to de )

its easier to try to find a dohc HUD cluster from a wrecker and put it n with your doihc engine, make sure you get the harness for the cluster though. if you dont already have a HUD harness.

when i found a SOHC digital cluster in the junk yard the tach did not work with the DE motor. i went ahead and tried to put the DOHC tach into the digital cluster but then it wouldn't sit right because one or two of the corners touches part of the cluster housing. the solution was to trim a very small piece of it.

if you have a sohc you need a sohc tach, and vice versa
the speedometer does not matter, even if its sohc and dohc.

if you can get a dohc cluster it would be easier, then you can pawn one off the sohc one.

or you an build the hybred cluster it should work, but I dont see having to trim any peices...I didnt on mine ? unless its a S14 tach maybe ?

Swap the tach's. That is all that is specific.

Keep the matching pigtails against the clusters.

All other info in this thread is WRONG.

I AM NEG REPPING YOU.
