ok i have a problem.

i think this is a nismo lsd. lookz similar from the one on courtesy.
the problem is its reallie hard to turn. on the ring gear (bigger) it says 43:12?

which is the higher one i believe.

the thing is its hard to turn.

history of it been sitting for awhile. and oil in it is reallie old. and when i cracked it open it dint even have to drain oil out.



my 2nd problem i took out the output shafts. and i forgot which side goes in which side and i dont know the tq specs of the brackets.

please help.

ok i found the write up with specs. but i still dotn know which output shaft goes where.

can i just use my 6 bolt shafts? the one thats on it rite now is 5 bolt.
and the casing is the vlsd from a 180sx.

think nismo, cause non smooth diff outside, most nismo, trd, mazda speed, lsd have a rough outside, the real aftermarkets, most have smooth outsides

where could I get nismo gt spec lsd? I heard many people got it for around $700 but I could find anywhere that sell it for 700.

thats a 3:58 geared rear end . Very interesting. That rear end ratio was not used in any of the GTR's or S series chassis's. Thats like a Nissan V8 ratio or a Z31 ratio. You better have some real HP coming out of your engine or that ring pinion is going to be a dog off the line. Remember our cars stock have 4:08's.

If its hard to turn make sure its shimed corectly, I had the same prob when I shipped mine home (I had to break it down) and forgot to lable the shims. once the carrier bearnig journals are tightened you should have a little bit of back lash

well I was going by numbers you posted lol. If its 49:12 then its a 4:08, but you have to tell us the right numbers! You initially said 43:12 which did seem odd but you said it!
Otherwise your going to get a different number lol.
you divide the larger number by the smaller number for your final drive ratio.

Basically LSD's are just a bitch to rotate by hand. lol
