Anyone know about MoonFace Coilovers?
I'm looking into getting a set, because originally I was going to get Megan Track's but I don't necessarily want 12kg up front. So I'm wondering if the Moonface's are any good, they are a couple hundred bucks more and more in this case isn't always better. Any help would be great. Thanks

As far as I can tell, Moonface is a company heavily into racing.
So, with that being said, I think they would put a lot of work into their parts to make them quality and useful. I don't think they are all about being a big company and selling tons of little generic china made downpipes and turbo outlets and shit.

I would rather have Moonface over Megan, any day.
Even with a blindfold on. I'm not hating on Megan at all, but just between those two choices for a couple extra hundred I'd use Moonface for sure.

I was gonig to get the Moon Face dampers but got a deal on something else.. Anyways for 160,000 yen they offer alot. Custom valving, spring rates and are rebuildable. Plus the quality of their parts look amazing.

![]() Bracket designs are pretty much the same, although the MFR's fronts aren't slotted. Both are 8-way damping adjustable. MFR's rear spring rates are also progressive, Silk Road's are linear. There are probably other little differences besides color, but they are more or less the same, especially the dampers. Valving is probably different to accomodate the different spring rates. That's cool, though. Silk Roads aren't bad by any means, and I've seen the MFR's go for cheaper... but these are nothing new, IMO. |

Moonface was on the cover of Modified a while back. I'm surprise more people don't know about them.

Just from reading their stuff and seeing the coilovers, I say moonface. Gotta be better than Megan.

I remember that issue with the Moonface S15. Really got my attention, that's for sure; that car is serious business.
That said, I'd trust Moonface. What else I've seen of them seems to indicate a reputation for quality and performance. That's what I got from my research... I wonder if there's anyone in the US with first hand experience though?

I could also say they look like megan racing coilovers but are painted different, have different spring rates, have different coilover perches but are basically the same except have different valving to accomodate the different types of springs... In other words what im trying to say is, what are you trying to say? a coilover is a coilover? We know that..... Quote:
who cares how it looks? megan's dont look bad either nor ksport coilovers. it's performance that matters.. besides, coilovers get messy under the wheel well and you never see them too. |

^^That's what I was thinking.
To the OP: Buy them! They're obviously better than Megans, and then give us the review. Help some people find some good quality suspension.

if you want to drag, i t hink the HKS drag kit is a good idea.
probably super soft springs in the rear and dampers set up totally different than everything else...

Whoever said they look like rebranded/colored coilovers fails.
MFR products have been well established in japan. Just until recently it was annoying as hell to acquire. There is a advertiser in the gb section that can get all of MF parts by the looks of it.

I thought about it but I dunno if I could find some budget suspension to compare them too... Quote:
![]() You need to hit Frank or Johnny up for a ride in the Silvia... Apparantly the car is a whole new beast with the new dampers. Can't wait to drive it with the SPL arms/links and bushings. For real though.. MFR is built in house and they offer custom valving and spring rates for your application so you're not stuck with some whack ass dampers. |

WOW thanks for all the feedback haha, I found them on mynismo.com, the catch is, the website says to expect atleast 60 days for delivery. But yeah thanks everyone for leading toward the right choice, I would have been pissed had I gotten Megan's over these haha.

![]() Same brackets and bodies, same adjusters. More than likely the valving and inside components are similar, as well. Just a theory on what to expect, that's all... no need for some people to get sandy vaginas over it... people act like it's a bad thing. Silk Roads are decent, and if these are the same but cheaper, what is there to lose? It's just something I noticed, I don't mean to piss in people's Cheerios. |
