Haha, yeah, i had previously removed the upper most guide with no change in the noise. So after a lot of research i found out about the lower guide on the upper chain. So 2nite with the help of my dad, he helped out a lot, we went in and took out that second guide. Once we started it up, i began enjoying the silence!

my guides were in decent shape compared to others, but the chewing up had begun.

Hey 240driver, congrats maybe you can help me out. Which guide is it? is it one that sits right on top of the chains when you take off the valve cover or is it somewhere in the front cover. thanks in advance.

There are 2 guides for the upper chain, the one on top of the chain and one that is lower on the right side. This second one is what requires a lil more work to get to.

Well the top one is easy, that is just simply removing the valve cover. But, for the econd one, u have to remove the front top cover on the motor and such. Go to 240sx.org and look under timing chain questions answered, there is a procedure in there that u could follow., i used that when i needed it, but my dad had experience doin what we had to do, so that was my help.
