If you are planning on having a system (Audio) in your car, don't get a smaller battery. I mean it will work, but i wouldn't recommend it. I just relocated my battery to my trunk for under $60. If you need help, just PM me!

I installed my FMIC this past weekend, and decided to just relocate it. It took alittle more time but it cleans up the engine bay and is cheaper than buying a small dry cell or a miata battery. Cost me about $50ish to relocate whereas buying a smaller battery was $75-100. Also saves u the trouble of running wiring through your car for a sub.

Did the same thing this weekend! My only problem now, is my battery sort of slides around in my trunk! . Need to make a bracket or soemthing to have it sit still!

Go to walmart in the automotive section where they sell batteries and pick up a battery box and then get a battery tiedown from a autoparts store. Box is like 10bucks and tie down is about the same.

Miata or civic batthery should fit. The only thing that sucks about relocating it to the trunk is that if you go to track where they are really strict, they will require you to have a kill switch installed for the battery.

My battery is re-located to the trunk and is easier access. I run a battery charger between rounds to cool my engine at the track. With it in the trunk Im able to put a kill switch on it and also terminals so I dont even have to raise the trunk or hood. Its alot nicer IMOP!!!!

I just relocated...the common thought is that most small batteries do not hold up as well. Using your STANDARD, note the caps, sized battery is always recommended for long-term use.

You can buy good quality small batterys just most people cheap out and see problems. Any good new smaller battery should be better then your stock or even a low priced stock sized one. Relocating sucks IMO unless you drag race, that weight is needed in the front of the car.

If you want to run a battery under the hood, you can get a MAZDA MIATA battery or go with the WESCO battery. I'm running a WESCO battery and it fits perfectly. You can also use a honda civic bracket to hold down the battery.

remember that batteries contain materials that you don't necessarily want sitting close to you in case of an accident.

I picked up a relocation kit from Summit Racing...though I guess their price went up on their Summit brand kits. (paid ~$90 shipped)

Most of those race batteries only provide those cranking amps for about five seconds. Then they drop considerably.
