Suspension help

Can any of you help me, I have a 96 240 with 108k on it and it seems as if every time I step on the take my foot off of the brake quickly or if I quickly take my foot of the gas under accleration my back end make a clunck/thunk noise, I think it might just be struts beings that they are 12years old but I'm not sure if its more than that so if you guys could give me some help that would be much appreciated, thanks

im not trying to be a dick, but that can be a dozen different things. struts, subframe bushings, link bushings, loose/missing nuts/bolts, stuff in your trunk, some combination of the above or none of the above.

very true I would recomend looking at the strut plates in the trunk and seeing if they are cracked and broken. if they are then that's probably it. if not then look under the car and check all of the subframe bushings and other suspension bushings and see if they are blown. hope this helps

this may sound weird but check all of your diff bolts and bushings I had the exact same thing happen on a 95 s14

agree. i might even go as far as making sure the cv joints on your axles arent messed up or your differential isnt messed up internally (broken teeth, etc.)

first check to see if your shocks are blown go push on the rear of the car down and watch the suspension if it oscillates, if so than its blown, fix rear shocks first, than move onto check subframe collars.

unless u want to go direct to collars ive got a used set for cheap PM me

Its most likely your subframe bushings, get some collars for a cheap fix but those will only last so long.
If you want to do it right get the aluminum solid ones, they are pretty cool.
My car used to make that before I put those on, then it stopped, but now my diff is making noises haha
