i am planning to buy a gauge cluster at a junk shop for my 1997 240sx since i like the white gauge look. i found one nearby and phoned them i have asked the shop if its mileage can be adjusted to my current miles. he said it can be adjusted. can it be done by myself or does it need to get some sort of permission from some authority and have them do this? if so, does carfax for example would know if odometer have been change on such cluster even if i had no intention of cheating thru the miles?

will a lay on colored gauge a much better choice? please help my fellow DRIFTERS!!

i just thought that it may happen to have some clip i have to break to adjust and same time may obviously display an intrusion to its adjustments. anyway, i have to see the gauge or i thought of speaking to the dealership tomorrow. anyway i tried getting you guys views about this to see if i can get answers quickly for my curious mind.

Well I like the white gauges as well. I looked into it a bit and I have decided to go with the lay-ons because its much easier than putting in the SE cluster. Im lazy eh. I'd say go for that. As for the mileage, f'it. If you really want the correct mileage just change it (I am not condoning THIS Illegal activitiy). You better like the car enough to keep it forever so you wont even have to worry about carfax

hey kanekz.. what brand of lay ons did you buy? did it look like so much like the OEM white gauge? do they smear? share me your info! hook up a brother !

nissan dealership might cost me more than i bought a used cluster. plus it might give me troubles with carfax someday. thanks you guys for all the inputs!
