Hi everyone:

I've been reading posts on the board for a while, and I believe I'm about a week away from owning a '95 240. I'll get back to that later.
I'm 24, live in Northern VA, I'm a systems analyst, and my daily driver is a '90 Eclipse GS-T 5spd with light mods and 181k miles. I love turbos!
I've been involved in all things 4G63 for several years and I feel that I know as much as anyone regarding turbo setups and supporting mods. I'm not sure how much difference there is between the 4G63 and the SR20DET but I'd love to learn.
Thanks for the great board!

Nick

Lot's of differences between the two, but the 4g63 is supposed to be just as bulletproof as the SR20. I don't know much about the 4G, but i have a friend with a 91 talon with a built 4G63 that is supposed to run 11's on a t3/t4 turbo 720cc injectors @ 13lbs boost. I know you can get as much as 400 rwhp out of the SR on stock internals, I don't know about the 4G63 though...anyways, welcome to the board.

Welcome to the boards *cough*FNG*cough* j/k Anyways I can't wait to see the new ride and hopefully you will enjoy yourself here.

It's also nice to have more N.VA folks here especially since there is an effort to start a club. Check out the thread in Events&Meets. Once again, good to have you here and enjoy.

I've been waiting for someone to ask what I'm doing...

I was looking around for another car, something fast (preferably turbo) and rare/unique. I was going to get a JDM Galant VR-4, but that fell through. Then I thought back to the SR swap 240 and looked for those.
I expect to get a divided response about the car for which I'm currently negotiating: Jeff Koshimizu's gold 95 240, which was featured in Import Tuner July 02. Normally I'd want to do the swap and lots of the mods myself. With this car, all the stuff I would be reluctant to shell out the cash for is already done (and I'll be getting it at a discount), and the stuff under the hood is where I'll turn my attention. I think it's a beautiful vehicle even though I've never been one to want a flashy car. There is a lot of potential there, and I hope to be the one to exploit it.

Fire away.

Dammit, I wanted to be the first person in N. VA with a sr and an s15 front. Now it looks like I'm gonna be the third!! Grrr..

G'luck with the project though, there are a few of us roaming the streets with our SR powered 240's. We'll offer any help we can.

Jed

Edit: The 4G63 and SR are suprisingly alike. Almost the same bore and stroke, both 2.0 liter and both monsters in the right hands. However I think that the 4G has attained higher hp levels on stock internals than the SR but that might only be because the RWD SR is still relatively new to tuning in the states.
