sr wont start when hot

i have a s14 sr20 in my s14 mods include gt8271r, tomei 740cc inj, z32 mafs, apexi hg,jim wolf ecu tune, jim wolf s3 cams and a few other irrelavent things. now my problem is that my car will not start when it is hot, if i go drive the car for a bit and shut it off it will not start again until i let the car cool down for a hour or so.when i try to crank the car over when it is hot it smells like it is flooded. when this happens the car will bump start with no problem, also after it floods i can unplug 2 of my injectors and the car will start. i have set the timing to 15* btdc, checked all my connections, and i just had my starter rebuilt. im thinking that it has something to do with ignition, maybe one of my coilpacks are weak or possibly my ignitor could be bad also. any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

it might be your coolant temp sensor.

this happened to one of our friends SRs. We had to pull the injectors out and plug them in while he would crank it.

when you car is warm, try starting your car with the ECT (engine coolant temp) sensor. If it starts then you have the culprit why your car won't start when it's warmed up. The ECT is for hot and cold starts. Hope this helps. I've had this same problem.

my KA did the same thing. Started fine when cold, warmed it up and it wouldnt fire again. Just kept cranking and cranking. Had someone put some pressure on the coolant temp sensor clip, started on the first try.

thats wack man, my rb starts without it just fine, good luck on it bro, I was actually thinking that the problem might be with one of the injectors,kk or fuel system. check your fuel pressure, maybe if its too high it lets some gas in through the injectors and floods your engine, just a theory tho, like I said good luck.

Yeah, your check engine light probably isnt wired up. You can still check for codes on the ECU itself.

I'm almost positive coolant temp sensors are the same across all SR20s. Have you already disconnected it and tried to start it to see if that's the problem?

what do you mean abnormal temperature? If it overheated I think you have more just than one problem. The ECT sensor is different from the temp sensor that sends a the signal to your temp gauge on your dash.

That's a problem I had with my 2000 Altima. My temp gauge would rise up all the way for a few seconds and then come back down. At first I though it was electronic or the sensor but it ended up being my thermostat. I didn't know this till I blew my head gasket and found the thermostat to be locked, not letting the water flow.

well the cts fixed my problem! another problem solved by the awsome zilvia community. thanks guys. now i just gotta go retime it because the car was idleing at like 1100 because the cts wasnt giving the ecu the signal to drop back the idle. so i think my timings way off.
