Hello all, can anyone give me some good pictures and tech on how to replace my shifter? I just order a B&M and before it gets here I want to know if I want to install it or have someone do it for me?

You can do it I put my obx in myself and I can't do anything but fill the gas tank and change the oil. I'll see if I can scan in a few pics of my shifter mid-install. For $300 you should get some #### good instructions with that shifter So, you can do it yourself.

For the B&M shifter you have to remove the whole shifter plate. It is a complete unit unlike the OBX ones. Those are only a shifter.
It is best to have a jack and remove the bolts holding your tranny to the car. This will aloow you to remove the shifter palte and install the one B&M one. Thata's it!!!

Are you sure you've got to go through all that just to put the B&M in?

Yep, I have one sitting in my garage I'll take a pic and post it later. The best way to do it is exactly what Grumpy said, but a few people have drilled holes through the floor to get to the last 2 bolts and take the plate out. I wouldnt do it though!! LOL Awsome looking shifter by the way!!!!
