Cali meet this summer?

yeah i am wondering if there are any 240sx meets this summer in Cali.  i am wanting to go on vaction over there and what perfect time then during an 240sx meet.  well if not i was thinking about putting one together with some help from the 240 Cali members.  anyone down for this.  this would be a west coast meet so vegas, new mex, texas (i know far but hey), etc. can all be there too and that would be tight.  well if anyone is interested hit me back.

That is a pretty big task to take on. I don't think there is anything planned yet, especially since winter just started, and I don't know if anything will be planned. We had the National Convention here this past summer, but I am sure that a lot of people would be happy to attend another one.

i know there is 7 months left but if i want to go somewhere for vaction i have to make plans and save money. &nbsp;plus getting a summer meet together and trying to get alot of people to come might be a bitch. &nbsp;but if you live in cali and are willing to help i think it would be tight.

Summer makes the most sense....That gives him or anybody else for that matter more time to plan it and get everything organized, plus school is out of session. and yes i know people have jobs (i have one), but its easier to take time off from work, than it is to miss classes.

GTR240: are you trying to undermine next year's 240sx convention? Do you hold a grudge against Alex (Mav1178) or any of this years convention organizers? Are you sad your car didn't get coverage at the event, or that you couldn't even make it out?

It just occurred to me that if you want to get a big group together next summer, it will more than likely interfere with the 2003 240sx convention, wherever it'll be held! This would make it really, really hard to draw any significant crowd other than those who are local to where you're planning this event. I wouldn't realistically expect such huge turnout if you're doing it anywhere within 3 or 4 months of the National 240 convention.

1st: &nbsp;didnt know that the convention was during the summer...but did know that it was on the East Coast and to me that is a hell far drive. &nbsp;

2nd: like kurissus13 said it is easier cuz class is out and i mean College. &nbsp;unless you take summer classes. &nbsp;and also more time to plan.

3rd: &nbsp;i would like to make something like the 240 convention but for the West Coast. &nbsp;i know it will be small at first...but everything is. &nbsp;when people start coming and we start getting ideas, etc... things will be better. &nbsp;but i am just trying to start it.

but i need help from Cali people cuz i dont know the area. &nbsp;i would like to have it in AZ cuz everything is close by..unlike cali...but it is too damn hot during the summer. &nbsp;Cali is great during the summer and when it is by the water...which i would prefer then it is even better.

so Cali people HELP. &nbsp;lets get a West Coast thing going on over there!!!

What kind of "West Coast thing" are you talking about?

In August, we NorCal people had a meet in Milpitas with about 40 cars showing up, and half the people went into D&B for games and dinner.

In October, we had a BBQ meet in Mountain View and about the same number of people showed up.

Feel free to come to the next NorCal meet, whenever we have the next one, but I'm not sure if you'd want to drive so far for these kind of meets. SoCal has big meets once in a while also.

What kind of big CA meet did you have in mind?

the plan of the meet i want to start is to for one time a year get as many west coast 240 owners all together for like 1-3days. &nbsp;depending on how big it gets, what people input of the next meet, and stuff like that. &nbsp;yeah it would be really ghetto in the begging but think of what you could do when like 100 (thinking big) start showing up and ideas start flying. &nbsp;like one day is the meet up and kinda like a car show thing. &nbsp;then the second day we go to the track (street, drift, drag, all three?). &nbsp;then whatever happens after that happens. &nbsp;i am up for ideas and all that good stuff. &nbsp;but like you said that Norcal is too far away...Atlanta is too far away in during the time it is really freaking hot and humid. &nbsp;Cali on the other hand next to the water is great. &nbsp;but give ideas. &nbsp;up for anything. &nbsp;just want something to happen.

dude, did you go to the 240 convention in cali? cuz what your saying is exactly what happened there. And you said your not even from the area? how do you expect to organize 100's and 100's of people together?? forget it!
