Well last night on my usual routine drive back home I stopped and filled up with gas and about 3 miles down the road I noticed my fuel gauge dropped from FULL all the way down to E, and then down way below E as far as it could go. For the next few miles it would come back up to about halfway full and then drop all the way down below the E again and then it quit working at all and is just stuck below E...what is going on?? By the way, I've got a 96 240sx...

The fuel pump has a few electrical connections. I think one of them is for the fuel gauge indicator. I accidentally cut it once and the fuel gauge would always show empty. Maybe you have some sort of short circuit there or the wire is not firmly stuck or something. Hope this helps. |
