In the future I wouldn't mind swapping in an sr20det, and I have been looking around at some places, and I was wondering where would be the best place to buy one? The only place I have really seen them on sale is my local auto parts store, and on ebay.... I am kinda weird about buying things from ebay that cost over 500 dollars.... So...

any ideas?

maybe I shouldve been more specific. I have been looking around for the BEST PRICE, and the only two that I have found with good prices are my local auto racing store, and ebay. I was hopping I could find a few more places with decent prices.

www.srswap.com is definatly not one of them

watever you do do not buy from ebay. there are many sellers that sell imcomplete engines and also jack your money and never send u the engine. best bet is to buy a front clip. srswap.com is one of the main sites everybody goes too. of courze their engines are expensive as hell, but it has lower miles and are very clean!

ok, i see what your saying and I very well know that I agree with you, I just know that sooner or later I will have to force myself into realizing that I will be paying 3k+ But hey, anything that will make the car go faster is a worth-while cause for spending a lot of money

Thanks guys

Yaaa... dont go to ebay. bad idea. but ya, your goin to have to spend a few grand to buy yourself an engine. Then installation, if you decide not to do it yourself. so much $$$.. srswap.com is a little expensive but they offer a warranty

a friend of mine ordered his s13 motor from there and there was a few things that were missing or broken(don't remember which it was) and they replaced it no questions asked. Their tech support is supposed to be amazing also. I have contacted them and hopefully I will get the money soon so I can get it.

It will be about 4k total for the motor and the parts. I am going to do it myself with the help of my friend.

Good luck to you when you decide to do your swap.

I got mine from http://www.jarcoinc.com and they were excellent. I went to their shop and it is first class. Tons of clips, they had Levin clips, R33 GTR clips and many more. The people were awesome, very friendly and very knowledgeable. They cranked it up for me before delivering it, i got a full receipt with warranty and so on. Price was similar to www.srswap.com but this was for the whole front clip. It has everything, including the digital A/C. They gave me the driveshaft too. The clip came with a K&N pop charger, blitz BOV, HKS turbo timer, cluster, Pivot Lazy eye controller, Nissan Strut tower brace, intercooler, even the mats where there. They didnt pull anything out of it.. Well worth what i paid. Also has the JDM H4 Headlights and the hood is brand new. Here are some pics. Be carefull who you order from, I got screwed out of $300 dollars.. Lesson learned. This clip has everything, not one thing was missing. It was from a 1998 RPS-13 with 70,000 km which is about 44,000 miles.

well i talked to the guy with the group buy, he seems realy nice and knows his shit. the one on the site (groupbuy) is what he has in stock. it was about 1600ucks shipped for the motor. however he could not tell me that it al would be there, like the maf and other little crap. So i asked him about a clip. his suplier has them and price will be a bit less than 2grand. low miles (well all motor places say 35-40 no matter what year it is). so I will be ordering mine tomorrow. I really wanted to wait on duntless but its just taking forever. And i wanted my swap done by now so i could get it painted before winter. Oh well. ill post pics of what i get. but 2grand total for a clip is not bad at all i think. I guess ill be the tester and we will all see. I just have to get this done now so i can start on my civic hatch. before snow hits

I live in california so i hear its right up there next to impossible to get the sr20det street legal. I dont want to go paying a shit load of money like 10k+ to make it legal, so what other motor alternatives are there? I definatly want something that is atleast pushing 200hp/200lb of torque.

any ideas?

I guess this was asked before but how realistic is a USDM 300ZX twin turbo swap into a S13/14?
