HID Install help

I just installed my 9005 HID high and H1 HID low beams. Now the high beams and low beams are on at the same time. Do they come like this from factory?
I never noticed if the OEM's were like this.

this must be for the 97-98 kouki lights..

sorry if this is obvious but is the lead for each ballast getting power from separate factory power source?

from what it sounds like, u have them in series causing both to go on. if u gave a diagram of ur connections it would help alot so we can see what u did wrong.

Sorry, it's a 97 with kouki lights.

I have a relay harness to power the high beams and the low's are being powered with the factory harness.

I have the low beams being powered by the factory harness. So the light is plugged into the ballest and the factory connector is plugged into the ballest. For the high beams, I have the light plugged into the ballest and the ballest is getting power from a relay harness. The factory harness is plugged into the one spare connector on the relay harness. Maybe this spare connector is the problem.

The car has done this since I bought it. The guy I bought it from only had low beam HIDs. But both high and low come on from the start.

Factory:

Low beam, just the outers come on

High beam, both come on.

I actually have an issue where I have HID low beams, and factory high beams. But on high beam, only the highs come on, not the lows as well. I think I know how to fix it, I'm just lazy, lol.

I know on a zenki for the factory lows, there are two filaments, one for low, one for high. I think kouki is setup the same way? Make sure you have the lows running to the right wires. (ie low/ground not high/ground).

take pics of the connections..kinda hard to determine what part of the factory connector(s) you've plugged into.

on a kouki s14, the high and Low are on IF you have HIGH on. if no high's are on, then your Lows are on.

on the zenki s14, it uses H3 bulbs, two 12v for Low. When you try to turn on your high on a zenki, the lows turn off. This is why you need a diode on the two 12v low to power your high relay. that keeps the low on when you flip on your high.

you are surposed to have the highs on with the lows if you want to use high.

hope that make sense. so to answer your question, yes it's stock.

if you highs are on the same time your lows are, then both relays are powered when you have the switch in high beam position. which makes sense w/ the way it is factory - (both hi/low bulbs on when in hi-beam pos.)

Thanks Guys. I thought that was the way they came from factory. Both on for high.
