fuel system
This is the first time I have set up a complete fuel system starting from scratch. We are building a 240sx coupe track car. We have removed the stock tank and put a 12 gallon fuel cell in the trunk. We are running a basically stock sr20det. The lines are ssbraided -6an. We are running an inline walbro 255 and an inline filter. Eventually we will add a swirl pot but for now just cell, pump, and filter. My question is what order and where should I place the filter? My assumption is cell, pump, filter, all in the trunk and then straight line to the rail. Is this the right way to do things or is there a better way? Thanks,

Cell - feed line - prefilter - pump - filter - FPR fuel rail - return line - cell cell - vent line - one-way check valve - filter Any more question? |

The vent line goes to a check valve so that no fluid spills out. The filter on the vent line is to keep dirt and debris out. The filter can go straight to the atmosphere, or if you're using some other emissions control device like an evaporative charcoal canister, no need for a filter. Any more questions? |

This is probably going to sound stupid but please remember my previous experience has been with hondas. You are saying fpr first then rail then return line? On a honda the fpr is after the rail to keep the rail pressure constant ensuring consistant flow to each injector. If you go to the fpr first there is a chance for pressure drop after each injector leaving the last injector possibly recieving less pressure. Maybe I just don't understand how the system works exactly. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks,

I'm also wondering if you have any examples of this:
cell - vent line - one-way check valve - filter I know what the cell and line look like, but I can't find a check valve or filter. What's the check valve look like? Also, is the filter like a regular fuel filter or like a breather type filter? |
