Alright, as im sittin here bored and reading a bunch of stuff on turbo Ka's and such, and i got a question

honestly i wouldnt be able to do a project like this for a while, but i was curious.

An argument against the ka-t is when u have higher miles. now my question is with my motor, i have 113k.  It pulls very strong, has perfect compression on all cylinders and such and i would consider this motor to be very strong still.  How relative is condition to mileage?, i realize that this may have been asked b4, but it was just something i was thinkin about, like what would stop me from just boostin on my motor at the current time with those kinda miles?

i'd imagine that the normal wear and tear of so much mileage would, no matter how strong the motor is, be a problem, but i could be wrong

156,000 miles on my KA24DE and it runs like new. Do tuenups, don't overheat it, and chang fluids and it'll go forever.

The !@#$ transmission is a different story. Mine is just about to go, but I want 5,000 more miles before it does &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

I would say that yes a NA engine can have high mileage and run great and last a long time . When you put an engine under boost though you are adding a lot more stress to the parts especially if the engine was not built specifically for boost.
Now granted a low mileage KA can handle boost well but just like your body as it grows older it may still perform fine but it gets wear and tear on it . This is almost impossible to prevent in fact its pretty much a given.
It is pretty much taking a risk putting an older engine underboost due to normal wear and tear that can weaken stuff that if not boosted would work fine . Boost raises compression by packing a denser air fuel mixture thereby creating more power. MOre stress period.

sorry you thought you where a winner, but I got you beat w a 192,000 miles w/ i/h/e on a 95. &nbsp;and every thing but the previously listed mods is stock. &nbsp;and by the way, tranny and diff work great!! car loves me, I love her. &nbsp;she's never left me hanging and I almost always run the car hard every where I go. &nbsp;Trying to see how long she'll run before the motor gives w/ someone learning to drift and proper maintenance.

haha, when did this thread turn into a mileage war?

yeah drift freq, i figured normal wear and tear would be the main factor against such an option, thanks for the reply

Let's not forget about engine cooling.. &nbsp;KAs are prone to premature failure if they overheat. Not saying that it's a guaranteed failure, but it's alot more likely.
