s13 s14 sr20de in s13 cold start issues

i guys,
I browsed through the threads and don't find any that could help shed light to my problem.

I am currently facing a "Cold-Start-Problem" (i think). I find it very difficult to start the car first thing in the morning and when I left the car parked for > 4 hours. The starter cranks but the engine just won't turn over. I would need to crank it 6-9 times before the engine kicks in. Flooring the gas pedal only works occasionally. Once the engine starts up, subsequent start up is a breeze (until I park it for > 4 hrs or so).

A lot of cold start issues is fuel related in my opinion.

The colder it is, the more fuel it will take to start/run it.

There is something that is not sensing that in your engine.

Any good mechanic should be able to track that issue down.

i just had a thread about my ka not starting right. dave said to check the coolant temp sensor. that wasn't my issue but from what he described it as it sounds like it could be your issue.

http://zilvia.net/f/engine-tech/3078...-problems.html

its the second post by z u l8r i believe that he describes the sensors function.
