KA ....Myserious dead cylinder

Ok so I recently had my KA24DE rebuilt at a local Machine Shop. I got the motor back and my friend and I dropped it back into my car. Since the repair I can not find a reason for

A)Mysterious white smoke, like I have a blown headgasket..

B)More mysteriously, my 2nd cylinder is dead...

I know its getting gas, it has compression, and it has spark.. And my timing was right because all of my other cylinders were fireing correctly, plus we've retimed it at least 4x and it has made no change...

Things that we have replaced...

1. At first we figured maybe it wasn't getting fuel, so we changed the injector..

2.A friend suggested a clog in the fuel rail from trash in "old" fuel (because my 240 was sitting for about 5months)... So we swithced it for a Fuel rail off my friend 240 (it ran fine) so yes, a different Fuel Pressure Regulator.

3.Now after (in the way beggining we realized we WEREN'T getting spark at all, my IGNITER went bad, replaced it and boom everything, EXCEPT 2nd cylinder would fire and work fine.. We went the extra mile, I instealled MSD Blaster Coil2...Still dead cylinder.

4. YES we did a compression check... It was a shitty gauge, but it had compression

5. Changed the dizzy, cap, rotar, sparkplug, and wire..

Still, I have no change, and 2nd cylinder REMAINS dead.

It worked before the machine shop, now it doesn't... I don't know if its something they did, or I did... I need advice bad.. My daily driver has been out of commision for 6months and my mom keeps ragging my ass about shareing her car.. I need to fix this bad..

Changes I made while motor was out:

All emissions gone. (EGR blocked off) (IACV, eliminated) I also took out my swirl valves, I JB welded the main hole where the rod went through, I didn't weld the holes inside the intake runners. The wires for the SCV and all are just kinda chilling behind the head... (I did remember the ground)

Is there something the machine shop could have done to cause it to have compression, yet still fuck up? Or does anyone have an idea of what is wrong?
