If I were to make my own turbo kit what exactly would I need to make it complete?
Also, is your car the stock color West?

1 Turbo...you choose the trim
2) External Wastegate if you want....if you get a T3 it has one internal
3) Exhaust manifold...fmax, revhard, or custom
4) Downpipe from turbo to exhaust system
5) Intercooler and piping from turbo and to intake manifold
6) Blow Off Valve that recirculates air to point after MAF sensor before turbo.
7)  Upgraded Fuel system....Depending on what PSI you want, you can use a Rising Rate Fuel Pressure regulator, or you can get an ECU burned for different injectors from JWT
9) Oil/water lines from engine to the turbo.
10) If you have a stock exhaust system chuck it for a high flow one.
11) Extra cash for things that will pop up
12) Engine rebuild if you want to run very high boost or have a high milage engine

Is that all I need or are there alot of little pieces  and connectors that I would need.  Also, my dad has a weld shop so I was thinking of making my own exhaust manifold. Has anyone done this?  How would I connect a boost controller? Thanks!

You will need little things like hose clamps, silicon hoses, heat shielding for the brake MC, exhaust wrap for the down pipe and mani (a good idea). You may also want to invest in an EGT and other gauges. The EGT is alot easier to put in while the mani is not in the car, as the probe will need to be welded in to the mani on cyl#4. And last but not least lots and lots of zip ties!

As far as the boost controller install. The solenoid has an input and out put. the input comes off of the pressure outlet on the turbo compressor housing. the out put goes to the waste gate actuator. They are really easy to install. I did one for my buddies turbo civic in about an hour and a half. That is wiring through the fire wall and all. If you are near northern VA I would be happy to help you out.
