s13 free spinning bolt

Hey all I was planning on painting my valve cover and noticed that the bolt in the RED SQUARE is free spinning (and it wont come out)...weird I know...I bought the car used and just noticed it about a week ago..Is this bolt holding anything vital? motor wise and anyone have had this happen to them? Any help and or advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

thank you, but I meant as in more detail...does it matter its free spinning (holding anything in place?) or can I just cut it off and leave it be if I decide to paint my valve cover

It holds the valvecover to the top of the head. If your rubber seals are good around the spark plug holes, you're straight... if not, oil from inside the head (there's not a lot, but it does get thrown around in there) can seep out into the spark plug hole.

i would pull it out and just change your seals it should b find if you dotn reallie fix the bolt.
to pull it out try to wedge something under it and lift it up and loosen at the same time.
or have all the bolts off and lift your valve cover well trying to lift it.
